Print - Cosmo Fields (Framed)

Size: Print is 5 x 5 in & Frame is 6 x 6 in

Handmade custom linocut print. Printed on handmade white gettou paper that is made in the Gifu prefecture here in Okinawa, Japan. 

Ink colors: Powder Blue, Soft Pink, & Pale Violet. All of the honeybees were inked with Paynes Grey and painted with yellow gouache. 

This print is framed and is an open edition.

 Because each print is hand pressed the color and the texture may vary slightly than the picture in the listing.

Description: I used one of my pictures that I took in Yomitan. I love cosmo flowers and I was excited that I caught a honeybee on one of them. I sat down, tucked myself in the field of flowers, and waited for one to collect pollen. This is why I love nature so much, it slows me down.

I chose pastel inks for this design because the colors are soft and delicate just like the flowers’ petals. For the honeybee I didn’t want to go with a bold black so I went with paynes grey and then hand painted the yellow gouache.
